Over the last 30 years, we’ve seen trends come and go. We’ve designed more than 20,000 unique homes— no two are the same. We’ve learned about what inspires you so that we can continue to create homes that are not only beautiful but practical for your family and daily life. Here are our home design trend predictions for 2022:
Modern Retreat: Inspired by the sleek lines of modern New Zealand architecture—with a tip of the hat to Mid-Century Modern A-Frames—The Modern Retreat Collection from Schumacher Homes shines a fresh light on imaginative, contemporary home design. Design that complements the natural environment in such a way that the one magnifies the other.
Large Pantry: Walk-in pantry, messy kitchen, butler’s pantry—whatever you want to call it, storage is a necessity. We know life can be messy. A spacious clutter free and organized walk-in pantry will save you time and stress. You can rest assured knowing everything you need is available in one glance.
HomeWork Studio: We’ve designed the ultimate dedicated, quiet space to help you or the kids stay focused and productive at home. We call it the ‘HomeWork Studio.’ This new room is connected to the home, but is tucked away from the main living areas to minimize noise and distractions to help you achieve work from home goals.
Outdoor Living Solutions: Patio, sunroom or deck? Schumacher designs can integrate any of these types of outdoor solutions as part of your custom home’s floor plan. Each have different benefits and unique attributes that lend themselves to different home designs, lot sizes, and land grading.
Feature Windows: Fill your home with natural light. Large energy-efficient windows are a great way to capture views and make the connection between the indoors and nature.
