At Schumacher Homes, we’re committed to making custom home building as straightforward and stress-free as possible. We build model homes and design studios for you to see the Schumacher Difference first-hand. But, as happy as we’d be to see you, we don’t expect you to visit a show home for every plan you're interested in.
That’s where virtual home tours come in. Our custom virtual home tours let you explore nearly 50 custom home house plans.
A virtual home tour is an immersive experience that allows you to walk through (and fly around) one of our custom homes. There are two ways to tour our home designs virtually.
Guided 3D virtual home tours are detailed renderings of home interiors. Each is an accurately modeled representation of a custom home design. You sit back as we take you through each home’s rooms and main features.
VR-powered custom home tours put you in control. We use state-of-the-art 3D camera technology to capture home interiors and contents of our actual model homes. The 3D images are then mapped to the plans, creating a spatially accurate digital twin. In effect, we copy the house and paste it into the digital world.
You can access these tours in your web browser. You’ll be transported to the home’s living room, and from there, you can explore every square inch. Wander through the rooms, assess the style, look out the windows, envision your family in the space, and check out the bedrooms, bathrooms, and closets.
Even better, if you have a virtual reality headset like the Meta Quest (once known as the Oculus), you can enter a VR world with 360-degree views and walk freely around the virtual space (or use the controller to move if you prefer).
The spatial fidelity of the digital models enables a range of valuable features:
To tour one of our houses, visit our custom home virtual tours. If you use a VR headset, click the “View in VR” icon at the bottom right of the tour window.
We love our virtual tours because they allow customers to explore their new home from the comfort of their current home. Let’s look at how they streamline the custom home selection and design process.
Virtual tours give you a true sense of the space and let you explore the layout, appreciate the building’s proportions, and see how finishes interact aesthetically. All of this is far easier to achieve with a virtual tour than with floor plans and your imagination.
Beyond the experience itself, tours play a role in the custom design and planning phase. They help you to develop a realistic appraisal of a plan’s suitability for you and your family, ensuring you make the best design decisions before construction begins.
Virtual home tours are an inexpensive and convenient way to see a comprehensive range of custom home plans. Few of us have the time to visit many different model homes across several locations. But with a digital tour, you can survey a dozen or more designs as many times as you'd like, all without leaving your home.
Online tours are great for people with mobility issues or other constraints that make in-person tours challenging. They also help people with accessibility challenges to see whether the house’s layout is suitable for their unique needs.
When you’re taking the tour, remember that we offer comprehensive build customization options. Talk to one of our designers about accessible home design to learn more.
You can share tours with family, friends, and anyone whose attention and input you value. Just send them a link and see what they have to say.
After you’ve taken a few tours and found a floor plan you like, the next step is to visit a model home and design studio. We have design studios in multiple locations in Ohio, Indiana, Louisiana, North and South Carolina, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and West Virginia, to name a few.
Model homes let you see Schumacher's craftsmanship and design close-up. In our design studio, you'll browse and choose layouts and materials in person. When you are ready, you will have a free Design and Pricing meeting with an experienced localNew Home Consultant. The NHC will discuss architectural design, interior and exterior finishes, and the home building process, as well as offer guidance about financing your custom home.
The NHC will produce a detailed quote with our FrontDoor software, itemizing every component of your custom home, including quantities, options, color selections, and pricing. With Schumacher Homes, there are no surprises—we provide full cost transparency to help you make an informed decision and tell you exactly what you’ll pay.
Schumacher Homes has simplified the custom home shopping experience with our online tools.
